The Grade Unknown is an exploratory newsletter where we’ll journey to uncover the “Grade Unknown” of the education and EdTech ecosystem. We’ll explore the topic of innovation (and lack of it) in education, shedding light on innovative technologies, policies, and teaching techniques that are pushing education forward. Who am I?

I’m (Turner DeMuth) a former high school teacher (and student) and current technology investment banking analyst passionate about technology, innovation, education, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

I graduated from Columbia University in 2018 with a B.A. in Economics and Psychology. At Columbia, I played varsity Football and was a part of the Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs (CORE). 

After Columbia, I moved to the West Side of Chicago and taught High School Physics for one year at Chicago Hope Academy. I also coached football and ran Chicago Hope's STEM Club.

Today, I am a part of the Technology Investment Banking Group at Credit Suisse in New York. I joined the group in July 2019 as an Analyst, helping a wide range of Technology companies with M&A, Equity, Debt, and SPAC transactions.
